Fintech Solutions for Cooperatives: DigiCOOP’s Impact at the CARAGA Regional Cooperative Congress
Tandag City, Surigao del Sur – October 15–16, 2025 — DigiCOOP, the Philippines’ most complete digital platform for cooperatives, proudly participated in the 6th Regional Cooperative Congress (RCC) 2025, a two-day event that united cooperative leaders, government officials, and partner institutions from across the Caraga region. The congress highlighted how digital transformation and fintech solutions are shaping the future of cooperatives and community development.
Held at the EDM Convention Center in Tandag City, the event was organized by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA)–Caraga, led by Regional Director Monatao Honeya R. Alawi, PhD, with support from the City Cooperative Development Council (CCDC), Regional Cooperative Development Council (RCDC), and Municipal Cooperative Development Councils (MCDC).
With the theme “Strengthening Cooperatives Through Digital Transformation and Sustainable Development,” the congress underscored the vital role of innovation, sustainability, and inclusive finance in empowering Filipino cooperatives to thrive in the modern digital economy.
DigiCOOP Showcases Innovative Digital Solutions for Cooperatives
As a pioneer in cooperative digitalization, DigiCOOP showcased its Cash Teller Machine (CTM), digiCOOP mobile app, digiCOOP web portal, and Phygital QR Cards — a full suite of tools that help cooperatives modernize their operations. These solutions enable cash-in, cash out, bill payments, e-load, fund transfers, and other digital transactions through a secure, interoperable ecosystem.
Throughout the event, DigiCOOP was actively promoted as a reliable technology partner for cooperatives aiming to adopt cashless, paperless, and more efficient financial processes. Delegates learned how the platform supports branch-lite operations, improves member access, and strengthens cooperative sustainability.
Highlights of the Congress
After the keynote addresses of CDA Undersecretary Alexander B. Raquepo and Regional Director Monatao Honeya R. Alawi, PhD, DigiCOOP delivered a live product presentation demonstrating how its end-to-end digital ecosystem simplifies financial transactions for cooperatives. The demo sparked strong interest among attendees, many of whom expressed readiness to integrate DigiCOOP into their cooperative operations.
The congress also featured discussions on the Philippine Cooperative Development Plan (PCDP), climate-resilient agriculture and carbon credit trading led by Engr. Dioric M. Gavino, and cooperative insurance innovations presented by Cecille M. Laguna, President of 1CISP.

The event concluded with a lively Solidarity Night and the Gawad Parangal Awards, honoring top-performing cooperatives across Caraga. Among the distinguished guests were Governor Johnny T. Pimentel, Congressman Romeo S. Momo, Sr., and Congressman Alexander T. Pimentel, who applauded cooperatives and innovators, including DigiCOOP, for advancing inclusive, technology-driven growth in the region.
